Workshops
The Tasmanian Middle Eastern Dance Festival offers two days of dance workshops with experienced and highly skilled teachers. The unofficial theme for this year is 'from Cairo to Quirky' - meaning attendees can choose from a mix of traditional and fusion styles.
Raqs Al Warda Concert
The Tasmanian Middle Eastern Dance Festival will feature a night of amazing performances on March 5th. Many of the teachers will be performing, as well as attendees of the festival. 'Raqs al Warda'', it means dance of the rose. How will each belly dancer interpret the theme? Will she be sweet? Sophisticated? Sinister? It's a night of anything goes belly dance.
Culture and Costume
The Tasmanian Middle Eastern Dance Festival will host 'The Maghreb and More' on March 4th - a journey through the history, dance styles and costumes of several countries across North Africa. The night will end with performances from festival teachers and attendees.
